Tuchel Questions Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his sadness that the Three Lions team did not get more encouragement from the home crowd during their commanding 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was satisfied to see his team continue their good form, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the opening quarter deciding the game. Yet, he was displeased with the energy at the national stadium.

“With limited training days to prepare against a well-trained team and we did very well,” Tuchel remarked. “It could have been 5-0 up at the break. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth goals. There was little noise. There was no any energy back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you deliver in the first quarter? We didn’t let them escape. When you only hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the team earned greater backing today.”

“I support my words. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a bit more support in phases where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It could have helped us to refocus, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Away from risking a dispute among supporters, the manager also created controversy by leaving out Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. But the decision was validated by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the attacking midfield role and scoring his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach explained. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his position.”

Bellamy Seeks Lessons from Defeat

Craig Bellamy hopes that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a crucial qualifying match on next week, improve after their awful first-half display.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this game,” the manager commented. “I wanted to assess where we are. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? Today fills me with drive.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Watkins was substituted at half-time after colliding with a goalpost and will be a doubt when the national team play their next opponents in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on next week.
