Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update
Paramount Skydance will start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs within a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.
More overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance planning to reveal full details in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Previous updates suggested the firm was looking to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
